Privacy Policy
Effective date: 8 September 2026 · Last updated: 8 September 2026
The short version. Metween is a private notebook for your own reflections. What you write stays on your device and, if you turn on iCloud, in your own Apple account. We do not sell your data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not read your personal records.
This Privacy Policy explains how Wellbulous Limited (“Wellbulous”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares and protects personal data when you visit www.wellbulous.com, use our mobile app Metween, or contact us.
1. Who we are
Wellbulous Limited is the data controller responsible for your personal data.
- Company: Wellbulous Limited
- Address: Room 702, Kowloon Building, 555 Nathan Road, Kowloon, Hong Kong
- Email: contact@wellbulous.com
- Phone: +852 9545 1544
2. Information we collect
2.1 Content you create in Metween
Metween works by letting you record your own experiences. Depending on how you use it, this content may include:
- Names, nicknames or labels you give to people in your life (for example “Mom — Mother”, “Alex — Boyfriend”), and how you arrange them;
- Records of interactions, moods, feelings and free-text notes you write;
- Dates, times and any tags or categories you apply.
This content is stored on your device. If you have iCloud enabled on your device, it may also be backed up or synced through your own Apple account, under Apple’s terms and privacy policy. We do not receive a copy of this content and we cannot read it.
You are responsible for the information you record about other people. Please only record what is reasonable, and keep in mind that the people you write about have privacy interests too.
2.2 Technical and diagnostic data
We may receive limited technical information to keep the app working and to fix problems, such as device model, operating system version, app version, crash logs and anonymous usage events (for example, that a screen was opened). This data is not used to identify you personally.
If you opt in to sharing analytics or crash reports with developers through your device settings, Apple provides us with aggregated reports through App Store Connect.
2.3 Information you send us
If you email us, request support, apply to a community programme or sign up for an event, we collect what you choose to send us — typically your name, email address and the content of your message.
2.4 Website data
Our website is a simple static site. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes standard server logs, including IP address and browser type, for security and reliability. Our website loads web fonts from Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address in order to deliver those font files.
3. What we do not collect
- We do not collect your contacts, photo library, location, microphone or camera data unless you explicitly grant permission for a specific feature and we tell you why.
- We do not use advertising networks or third-party advertising SDKs.
- We do not sell, rent or trade personal data to anyone.
- We do not use your personal records to train machine learning models.
4. How we use information
- To provide the app and website — so your records display correctly and features work.
- To fix and improve — diagnosing crashes, understanding which features are used, improving stability.
- To respond to you — answering support requests, enquiries and applications.
- To meet legal obligations — record keeping, responding to lawful requests, protecting our rights.
Where the law requires a legal basis (for example under the GDPR), we rely on your consent, on performing our contract with you, or on our legitimate interest in operating and improving our products.
5. Sharing
We share personal data only in these limited situations:
- Service providers who help us operate — for example Apple (App Store distribution, iCloud, crash reporting), Cloudflare (website hosting and security) and our email provider. They may only process data on our instructions.
- Legal reasons — where we are required to disclose by law, regulation, court order or a valid government request, or to protect the rights, safety and property of Wellbulous or others.
- Business transfer — if Wellbulous is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, data may transfer as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
6. International transfers
We are based in Hong Kong, and our service providers may process data in other jurisdictions. Where personal data is transferred out of your region, we take reasonable steps to ensure it remains protected to a standard comparable to that required by applicable law.
7. Retention
Content you create in Metween stays on your device until you delete it or delete the app. Deleting the app removes its local data from your device; if you use iCloud, you may also need to remove the data from your iCloud account. Support emails are kept for as long as needed to handle your request and to keep reasonable business records, then deleted.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including device-level protections provided by iOS and encryption in transit for any data sent over the internet. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please protect your device with a passcode, Face ID or Touch ID.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- ask what personal data we hold about you and request a copy;
- ask us to correct data that is inaccurate;
- ask us to delete data we hold about you;
- object to or restrict certain processing, or withdraw consent;
- complain to a data protection authority — in Hong Kong, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (PCPD).
Because most Metween content never leaves your device, you can exercise most of these rights directly in the app. For anything else, email contact@wellbulous.com and we will respond within 30 days.
10. Children
Our products are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Wellbeing, not healthcare
Metween is a self-reflection and wellbeing tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical, psychological or therapeutic advice, diagnosis or treatment. Your records are not medical records. If you are struggling, please speak to a qualified professional or your local emergency services.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above, and for material changes we will provide a more prominent notice in the app or on this site. Continuing to use our products after an update means you accept the revised policy.
